Caritas located on South Shore Road in Paget East is open to  people  of    all faiths on Wednesdays for quiet prayer and reflection.  The hours are from 10:30AM to 7 PM.  In addition to providing a peaceful setting for prayer, there is an opportunity to share faith with others and to make use of the many  spiritual books and tapes that are available.

1)       Caritas House of Prayer:  “Quiet Wednesday” will take place on November 21st with  Rosary at 10:30 PM followed by Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament until 3:30 PM.  Catholicism, DVD #4, will be shown at 1:30 PM; or a makeup one depending upon the viewersThe House of Prayer will close at 4 PM this Wednesday only. 2)  Sessions on “Christmas in Scripture and Tradition” as well as a Retreat Afternoon will be held during December. Dates will be announced next weekend.

Monthly evening Prayer: This will take place on Sunday November 25th at 6:30 PM at Caritas with the topic, “Group Faith”. Incorporated into the prayer will be a celebration of the Feast of Christ the King. All are welcome.

 

 

 

Monthly Evening Prayer: "The Questions Jesus asked"  on Sundays April 22nd, May 20th and June 24th at 6:30 PM at Caritas.

The Eucharist is the source and summit of all Christian life. The Eucharist is the very sacrifice of the Body and Blood of the Lord Jesus which He instituted to perpetuate the sacrifice of the cross throughout the ages until His return in glory.  The Eucharist is a sign of unity, a bond of charity, a paschal banquet, in which Christ is consumed, the mind is filled with grace, and a pledge of future glory is given to us.

         Can you not watch one hour with Me?

In the Sacred Host, Jesus is present, the true treasure, always waiting for us.  Only by adoring this Presence do we learn how to receive Him properly.

Understood simply, Eucharistic Adoration is adoring the Eucharistic presence of Christ.  In a deeper sense, it involves “the contemplation of the Mystery of Christ truly present before us.

Adoration takes place at:

 Caritas on Wednesdays from 11AM to 3PM (5:15PM on Mass Days)

                                        St. Theresa’s on Saturday from 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM.

                                        St. Patrick's on Thursday evenings from 7:30 - 8:30 PM.
